Fairmont Partners with Matter Of Form to Transform Digital Experience

In partnership with Accor, Europe’s largest hospitality company, Matter Of Form is set to revitalise the digital experience of the Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, honouring the marque’s famed reputation as well as its evolving brand.

For over a century, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has been synonymous with exceptional hospitality. With over 80 prestigious properties worldwide, from Dubai’s The Palm and The Savoy in London to Le Château Frontenac within the old walls of Quebec and the legendary Fairmont Banff Springs in the midst of the Canadian Rockies, each hotel is a destination in itself. 

Through a signature combination of unique architecture, expressive decor, artistry and magnificent features, Fairmont creates extraordinary places founded on four descriptive principles: Charismatic, Thoughtful, Cherished and Exceptional. Add in their engaging service and the result is an unforgettable guest experience.

Since 2016, the Fairmont brand has been part of the Accor Group; an internationally-renowned company offering the most diverse portfolio within the hospitality industry with over 40 hotel and resort brands across every class and category. 

Of course, such an impressive portfolio in both scope and standard comes with its challenges – in particular, balancing the need for a cohesive digital experience across multiple destinations without falling into the trappings of ‘one size fits all’. 

Wanting a digital experience to match the distinction of their remarkable stays but primed for growth as the group continues to scale, the Accor Fairmont team re-engaged MOF – having previously partnered on Pullman, Sofitel and MGallery – to transform their existing website into a world-class digital experience that moves the needle for Fairmont, in line with their brand evolution and the shifting sentiments of the luxury traveller. 

Kicking off with a collaborative two-day workshop in Paris between our team and Fairmont stakeholders, we solidified strategy, journey mapping and visual design language, taking cues from their revamped identity to inform the overall aesthetic. 

Since then, two routes have been concepted and designed; both reflective of the brand’s cultural DNA and each hotel’s local refinement, meeting ambitions of a connected and storied journey for users exploring Fairmont’s sprawling portfolio.

With final designs in progress, we’re looking forward to seeing the new site come to life in development.
